The national average reading level in the United States hovers around 7th grade, so for many individuals and businesses, approachability in written content is an important consideration. A language exists to serve the communication needs of its speakers, not the other way around. Writers and editors are important; however, confusing jargon should not interfere when it comes to audience connection.

This mindset around language enables me to write and edit in a manner that fosters connection, rather than alienating audiences with overused, niche phrases.
